Agricultural made calvados Pays d’Auge with a range of 3–30 years of very high quality (Fine, Vieux, Vieille Réserve, Hors d’Age, Cordon Argent and Cordon Or). Cider, pommeau, vinegar, jelly and much more in the shop. At the ‘La Brière des Fontaines’ manor, the Huet family have made cider and calvados for five generations and won many medals. Huet is represented with many famous restaurateurs like Bocuse, Taillevent and Rostang.
As in all the area of Cambremer the apple production is strictly controlled. Amongst others Huet belongs to the ‘Cru de Cambremer’, which is a government certification guaranteeing quality. The family owns 50 hectares of orchards that produce some 500 tons of apples every season. They are divided between 30 hectares of high-stem orchards and 20 hectares of low-stem. |
