Cellar door sales and guided tours. Award-winning and high quality calvados with an extensive range and some very old calvados. The manor house of Coquerel is located in Milly, near Saint Hilaire du Harcouët and Domfront. Traditionally an area where calvados is made with pears, Coquerel’s focus is on apples. The history of Coquerel begins in 1937 and the founder René Gilbert made it into one of the first houses of calvados. In 1971, the German group Asbach bought Coquerel and made it into one of the major brands in Germany. After a brief passage in the Guinness group, Domaine du Coquerel has been independent since 1996. The French President has rewarded the estate for its quality five times.

In the cellars, over 2000 small barrels (300 to 600 liters) of Limousin oak are aged. An annual distillation of 2500 hl pure alcohol is slowly transformed to an extensive range of calvados. 55 percent of it is exported to European countries, mostly Germany, but also to Asia and the United States. Range includes the brands Coquerel (Fine to XO) and Marquis de la Pomme (15 years and vintage 1967), Pomme d’Eve (trapped apple) and some other present bottles. Duc d’Arthour and Baron de la Touque are two other brands associated with Coquerel. Pommeau, Crème de Calvados and Liqueur de Pomme are also available.
